Karma can mean many things to many people, but for Jessica Drake it has always meant an abundance of riches, charm, and success. Her beauty frames a provocative personality that’s helped her develop one of the most robust and acclaimed careers in adult. It’s a career that’s rising to a new level of excellence this year, as she continues creating big budget features with Wicked’s Brad Armstrong – she recently received 2009 Best Actress and Best DP Sex Scene mentions for their gothic fantasy “Fallen” – while branching out on her own as a writer/director with the playful vignette picture “What Girls Like.” The first of several pictures she’ll be directing across 2009, “What Girls Like” reveals drake to be as gifted and compelling behind the camera as she is in front of it.
In light of these achievements, it’s important to remember that even before she was an official member of Wicked’s creative team, jessica had appeared in some of the company’s best known productions, including Armstrong’s "Dream Quest" and "Falling From Grace," and Jonathan Morgan’s "About A Woman," for which she received an AVN nom for Best Supporting Actress. Prior to this, she'd received many other AVN noms, including Best New Starlet in 2000, Best Tease Performance in 2001 (which she won), and both Best Girl/Girl Scene and Best Group Scene in 2002. It was obvious to Wicked from these early performances that jessica was a unique find. Since inking her deal in 2003, she has appeared in such AVN-heralded titles as Morgan’s sci-fi spectacular "Space Nuts," Armstrong's "The Collector" and "Sold," and Michael Raven’s "Perfect Life.” jessica also starred in Armstrong's "Fluff & Fold," an acclaimed AVN Editor's Choice which earned her a much deserved 2005 AVN Award for Best Actress.
During the 2006 AVN Awards season, she received a wealth of nominations, including Best Actress for Armstrong's "One Man's Obsession" and Best Supporting Actress for both Armstrong's "Eternity" and Morgan's "Camp Cuddly Pines Power Tool Massacre." On January 13th 2007, her career reached yet another pinnacle of success, as the blonde superstar supplemented her duties as the host of the 2007 AVN Awards by taking home trophies for Best Actress - Film (for director Brad Armstrong's bounty hunter epic “Manhunters”) and Best All-Girl Sex Scene - Film (for Armstrong's elegant vignette film FUCK). Her 2008 AVN Nominations included Best Actress – Video for Michael Raven’s “Delilah,” Best Supporting Actress – Video for “Love Always” (for which she also penned the screenplay), and three sex scene noms for her work in Armstrong’s cinematic fable “The Craving.”
Even a glance at her track record reveals this actress to be one of adult's most precious assets. After all, this is the woman who has spent time in Sacramento, California meeting with state legislators as a part of the Free Speech Coalition's Celebrate Free Speech Lobbying Days. And it's the same woman who graced a photo essay commissioned by the U.N. in 2005. Her wit and beauty have made her a well-known face in the mainstream. jessica has appeared in Premiere, Chord, and Stuff magazines, been profiled on HBO’s “Pornucopia,” done radio interviews with metal legends Anthrax, danced on-stage with Kid Rock, worked on the FOX TV series "Skin," appeared on Maxim Radio and G4's "Attack Of The Show," walked the red carpet at the Grammy Awards, worked with charities like “Cuties For Canines,” and been featured on Late Night with David Letterman. Other TV appearances include interviews on AMC's "Sunday Morning Shootout," "The Tyra Banks Show," and “Criss Angel’s Mind Freak.”
As a director, jessica will follow up “What Girls Like” with more movies in 2009. It’s a path she prepared for by assistant directing such Armstrong shows as "Coming Home," “Last Night,” and “Just Between Us,” and writing the screenplays for “Love Always, “Just Between Us,” and “Dating 101.” As a performer, she will continue to thrill fans in 2009 with such titles as "Seduction", "Always & Forever," and "Mobster's Ball 2."
