Hackers Target Hollywood Celebrities

Hackers have single handedly caused hundreds of bottles of lotion to be purchased by leaking cell phone pictures of the hottest celebrities online including Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus, but those days may come to an end thanks to FBI involvement.

The hackers have access to about 100 active e-mail addresses to celebrities, sports stars and politicians and are slowly leaking out the photographs over time. The ring came into the news again after a third set of compromising pictures featuring Hudgens was leaked last week.

Compromising pictures of celebrities and sex tapes have become big business with the videos making the distributors and the stars themselves millions. Other stars targeted by the ring include Selena Gomez, Ali Larter, Scarlett Johansson and Demi Lovato.

I myself have taken a look at many of these hacked photos. It’s exciting to see stars that refuse to get naked in their movies and see them in less than full clothing.  Sure, it’s illegal to steal them, but that’s not stopping hundreds of websites publishing them and thousands of people looking at them.

I think it’s wrong and the hackers should go to jail, but if I get the chance to see Scarlett Johansson’s naked anything, I am going to look. We’re not all Ryan Ryenolds or Sean Penn after all! Hackers are smart, but they can also be arrogant and careless. My guess is this ring will be caught before nude pictures of Newt Gingrich show up on TMZ.com

The celebrities are working with the FBI to help catch the cyber thieves as well.
