L Word Star Kicked Off Flight for L’ing it Up

By Ron Ecstasy on September 27, 2011

Here’s your fucked-up backwards-ass-world news of the day. Leisha Hailey, star of the rabidly popular television show The L Word was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight yesterday for doing, well, what she does;  Kissing another woman.

The attendant apparently approached the couple after other passengers complained that their behavior was “excessive”. The situation then escalated and the two were asked to leave the plane.

Southwest offered this mostly- bullshit apology after the actress started raising a big ‘ol twitter stink.

Initial reports indicate that we received several passenger complaints characterizing the behavior as excessive. Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all Customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behavior and not gender. The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight. We regret any circumstance where a passenger does not have a positive experience on Southwest and we are ready to work directly with the passengers involved to offer our heartfelt apologies for falling short of their expectations.

It seems like there is room for this to have been a misunderstanding. Because, frankly if the couple was totally going at it then of course that might disturb other passengers. However, given the obvious prejudicial aspects of the world we live in, that likely wasn’t basis of the complaint. I’m gonna say it; Hailey and the rest of the blogodome are accusing the airline, stewardess and cowardly needle-dicked passenger of being homophobes.

That Southwest, which has in the past publicly positioned its self as a queer-friendly airline, didn’t include the possibility of disciplinary actions for the cat-brained flight attendant in their statement is another lump of bullshit.

This isn’t ok for a million reasons, but the greatest irony here is that Hailey is the star of a relatively queer positive television show broadcast to millions of Americans. Like, she’s literally on the cutting edge of changing media attitudes about queer people. That she’s profiled in public, openly and unapologetically discriminated against by a major corporate service provider is insane. Or it’s just a mark of the hypocritical times we live in.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. What kind of guy would ask two lesbo babes to stop going at it? Gee Whiz I’d love to rock the old Ron rod to something like that. Did you get to see any tongue? Maybe I should fly more, on the bus it’s just teenagers snorting meth. Ok, see you next post.
