The New York Giants won the Superbowl  yesterday, with Eli Manning leading his team in the win against New England Patriots. As much as I enjoy the game for the sake of the game alone,  there’s one thing that was lacking for me during Sunday’s game: more cheerleaders!

Whether it’s the pompoms, the skimpy outfits, or the acrobatics, cheerleaders just get me hot like nothing else. Funny to recall that the first cheerleaders were dudes.  Back around the turn of last century,  spirit squads were run boy boys with megaphones and varsity sweaters.

Praise the powers that be for girly girls who love game and the advent of the mini-skirt.  In the NFL, cheerleaders became part of team franchises in the 50’s, starting with Baltimore Colts in 1954. But the babes who really set the bar were the  Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders in the 60’s. Their sexy outfits and sizzling dance routines, gained them the spotlight.

Today all but five NFL teams have their very own cheerleaders. Gymnastics, and highly choreographed routines have become the norm among pep squads, and cheerleaders compete amongst eachother to win their own annual competitions.

Check out these vintage pics of some of the hottest cheerleader squads in NFL history.

I have a spin on sivnag the voice mail topic. I had a girlfriend we’d break up and get back, so i kept a nasty voice mail of hers to remind me to NEVER go back with her again.
