Discovery asks Why is Sex Fun?

By Olive Day on August 22, 2011

I know it’s Monday so your brain might not be ready for this sexy science video, but it’s pretty damn interesting! Discovery Channel has teamed up with mega hottie Maggie Gyllenhaal to explore how female brain activity changes as a woman reaches orgasm. I wouldn’t really feel comfortable masturbating in a MRI scanner, but if it’s for science I guess I’d jill one out.

The episode which aired Sunday, Aug. 21, was apparently quite the revealing investigation into the latest scientific research on orgasms and sexual pleasure. The press release says, "Sexual pleasure is among the most prized, meaningful and richest experiences known to man. But the orgasm is a true scientific puzzle." Yeah, I think my boyfriend would also agree that female orgasms are a puzzle too...

If you missed its first broadcast, it re-airs on Discovery Sunday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. ET, Monday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. ET and 11 p.m. ET and Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 3 a.m. ET.
